For the forth
haiku competition "AN4-2001" announced in April 2000 by the
Yugoslavia-Japan Friendship Society, the Novi Sad University Section and
the "Aleksandar Nejgebauer" Haiku Club, 210 authors sent their
works, 153 of them from Yugoslavia and 57 from other countries (Australia
3, Canada 3, Croatia 4, Romania 6, USA 13, Japan 1, Holland 1, Greece
1, England 1, UK 2, GB 1, Belgium 1, Slovenia 3, Republic Srpska 11, Deutschland
1, New Zealand 2, Ireland 1, Scotland 1). In the category "Haiku
in Serbian" 160 participants entered their works, in the category
"Haiku in English" 86 participants and in the category "Haibun
in Serbian" 37 participants.
The first
part of the volume brings the reports of the judges Dimitar Anakiev, Prof.
Vladislava Felbabov and Nevena Simin. In the second part of the volume,
the awarded, specially mentioned and selected works in all the three categories
are published, along with other works by the competition participants,
as selected by the editor. At the end of the volume there is a list of
all of the authors who have participated in the competition.
Prof. Vladislava
Felbabov has translated the "Preface" into English, the awarded
poems in the category "Haiku in Serbian", and various other
texts. She has translated from English into Serbian the poems awarded
in the category "Haiku in English". She has also edited some
of the haiku poems sent for the competition in English, by those participants
from countries where English is not the native language.
