My Haiku Pal

          Zoran Raonić

A long Shadow

... Haiku is the cardiogram of a natural condition ...

kanta pod strehom
- uskoči jedna
iskoče dvije kapi

a pail under the eaves
- one drop jumps in
two jump out

monahinja
metlom tjera jesen
oko manastira

with a broom
a nun chases the autumn
around the monastery

nakomila
činiju kukuruza -
mjesec u krilu

grinded
bowl of maize -
moon in the lap

na strehi
i na brcima
- ledenice

on the eaves
and on the mustaches
-- icicles

mlad mjesec
do pola pojedena
kruška na grani

new moon
half eaten pear
on a branch

jesenje nebo -
za borbenim avionom
odletje gavran

autumn sky -
a raven follows
a combat aircraft

livida
poslije lentje kiše --
svijetlost isparava

the meadow
after a Summer rain --
light evaporates

svakog jutra
moj orah sve duzu
sjenku daje

every morning
my walnut-tree makes longer
and longer shadow
