JOŠ UVEK S NAMA
...
STILL WITH US
...
Dubravko IVANČAN
(1931-1982)
Uvijek iznova raste
Pjenušavo stablo
bijelog vodoskoka.
Growing up again and
again
the foamy tree
of the white fountain.
Ležim u čamcu.
Val
prelije zvijezdu.
Laying in the boat.
A wave
overflows the star.
Ležkriven
vjetrom.
I'm laying on the bench
covered by
the wind.
Na mostu - rijeka
prolaznika. Rijeka
- pod mostom.
On the bridge a river
of the passers-by. The river -
under the bridge.
Praskozorje ... zidari
čekićima
razbijaju noć.
At dawn ... the masons
with the hammers
shatter the night.
Pijevac...
Kukuriječe
iz kičme!
The rooster ...
Crowing
from his spine!
Kartaši u krčmi.
I pijući
motre karte.
Card players at the
inn.
Even while drinking
they look at the cards.
Ova će kućica
s cvijećem u oknima
doći u nebo.
This little house
with flowers on the window panes
will come to heaven.
Netko ... pognut
ulazi u groblje.
Uspravni spomenici.
Somebody... bent down
enters the cemetery.
Vertical monuments.
Jednom ćemo biti
svi mrtvi;
cćitav svijet.
Once we'll be
all dead;
whole world.
