It has been published six books entitled "Cherry tree blossom". The editor is the "Center for East Asia" at the University of Belgrade. The complete work has been done by professor Mrs Ljiljana Markovic, Mr Milijan Despotovic, writer and professor Aleksandra Vranes. Aleksandar Sevo translated one volume into Russian language. The reviewers were Takasi Kato and Karel van der Leu. The ilustrator was Vesna Furundzic.
Book 1 - "Breeze over brook" - on haiku poetry and haiku poets. Table of contents: "Contraction
of poetical expression", an essay by prof. Ljiljana Markovic, as
well the essay by prof. Aleksandra Vranes on contraction between Serbian
and Japanese poetry, and "Discovery of spirit light" the essay
by Milijan Despotovic about Yugoslav haiku poetry. In the book there is
also a short selection of critics, biographies and bibliographies on Japanese
and Yugoslav haiku poets on 256 pages.
Book 2 - "Plum tree blossom" - japanese haiku poetry. 101 Japanese author
with 320 poets on 136 pages. It has been used many books and translations
published in Yugoslavia.
Book 3 - "Morning belongs to the birds" (I - III) - Yugoslav haiku poetry. In the book of three
volume there are 3235 poems of 680 authors from Yugoslavia, Serb Republic
and Yugoslavs from abroad on 736 pages.
Book 4 - "Dandelion
flakes" -
Yugoslav poets translated on Russian by prof. Aleksandar Sevo on 200 pages.
The edition "Cherry
tree blossom" is one of the most important and most voluminous project
about haiku poetry in Yugoslavia. The first promotion was
held on November 28th 2002. at "Shiki" haiku club in Belgrade
and on December 4th 2002. in the City library. At the same time visitors
could see pictures (japanese aquarels) by Vesna Furundzic and ceramics
by Stela Rakinic Colic and Nenad Lucic. His Excellency, the ambassador
of Japan Mr Yoshiki Mine, was present at this important event. Contact : Milenko D. Cirovic
