From the Introduction
When as the editor of LČ I choose haiku, I still bet primarily on the haiku moment, on the "enlightenment", on the "right" haiku, based on concrete images and the unity of the world and the man. However, doing this I try to bear in mind the state and development in the western, and especially in Slovenian haiku world as "Seasons" is first of all the organ of the Haiku Club of Slovenia and the majority of authors, including myself, write chiefly Slovenian haiku.
In LČ, I present haiku in different sections:
"The Beat of
Seasons": traditional haiku and simple impressions from nature.
This section is meant for all members of HCS.
"The Flash of the Moment": haiku with the haiku moment, principally shorter than 17 syllables, simple in expression, but still innovative.
"The Poetic haiku": figure of speech, like metaphors or original personifications,.....are allowed. To a certain point this follows some tendencies and directions of the modern world haiku in English (also in Japan).
"Senryu, satire, experiment": I rank here interesting experiments, which otherwise do not agree with my concept of haiku. Principally, I agree that a modern haiku can also deal with modern social themes and use suitable language.
"International
(bilingual) section" serves as the main source for the internet
edition. In this section I publish all haiku with added English translations,
made by the authors. Besides, together with my co-workers, I see to the
translations of all the haiku which, in my opinion, excel in quality.
In this section also the contributions from authors from all over
the world are published. We welcome especially those haiku from abroad,
which
have not been published elsewhere yet.
