Selection Criteria
A. General
characteristics of Haiku Genre
- a moment of
insight or revelation ("the haiku moment")
- a keyword
which opens up the poem, or deepens the context
- a juxtaposition
of elements which permits the energy of one image to interchange with
the others
- no personalization,
no direct explicit comparison
- no personal
implication in haiku section
- no abstract
consideration
B. Using of
specific haiku techniques
- brevity (rarely
more than 3 lines, rarely as many as 17 syllables), economy of words
- phrase/fragment
- pivot or cutting
word (kireji)
C. Distinguishing
from similar & historic forms
- haiku is an
expression of a experience
- hokku is a
an invented moment
- senryu is
a haki with personal implication
Publication procedure
English is the
publication language. Original languages can be also accepted but within
translation possibility (French or Italian is also accepted).
You can send up
to ten haiku each month for selection :
