Auschwitz...

Une des pages les plus noires de notre histoire européenne. Une part de notre patrimoine. La mort industrielle... Ils étaient Juifs à l'époque mais depuis nous savons qu'ils peuvent être autres. Ce n'est pas le principe des camps de prisonniers qui a fait modèle. Il y a eu, il y a peu de temps en Europe, Omarska, Keraterm, Trnopolje en ex-Yougoslavie. Il y a encore de cette ideologie en développement à Guantanamo et ce ministre de la justice promoteur de la torture. Il y a eu comme modèle Andersonville puis au delà, en d'autres terres la Goulag, l'archipel de la Kolyma. A Auschwitz, la nouveauté, l'innovation, c'est l'industrie, la mise en oeuvre rationnelle de l'élimination irrationnelle. C'est une tache que nous portons tous, nous Européens. Elle est posée sur notre tradition humaniste.

Il faut être capable de le regarder en face et d'en tenir compte dans nos réflexes quotidiens.

Auschwitz...

One of the darkest pages of our European history. A piece of our inheritance. The industrial death... They were Jews at this time, but we know they can be others by now.
